SQ1 Con | 01 - On the Way to Chicago
I took an overnight bus to get from Toronto to Chicago.
I thought scheduling a 12 hour bus ride so most of it was overnight would be a good idea since I would sleep through most of it, but that didn't turn out to be the case. I didn't end up sleeping longer than 3 hours at a time, but at least on the upside I would arrive in Chicago at a reasonable time of day.
Crossing Ambassador Bridge.
Morning in Detroit.
And an hour and 20 minute delay.
Some sketches I did to pass the time.
The highway into the city was quite scenic. Not that I got any good photos of it. I was trying to be meta instead.
The Chicago Greyhound station has more character than the ones in Toronto and Detroit combined. I'm surprised how different it feels with just a few pieces of art above the seating lounge.
First thing I did was scout out the convention venue and find all the classrooms I'd need to be in for the upcoming workshops.
There's none of this in Toronto, but Facebook's reputation recovery campaign was out in full force in the Chicago L train stations.
Gives a pretty strong MTA vibe.
Nothing else to do on the end of my first day but get some rest.
