Window to Nowhere
Acrylic on Canvas
16" x 20"

This painting is a blend between the styles of René Magritte and traditional Dia de Muertos. It depicts anonymity in death and how we all end up in the same place - no human being is immortal - within the black abyss of the picture frame. Anybody can be depicted in the picture frame and who it is is left to the viewer's imagination. The marigolds in the background serve to contrast the otherwise morbid foreground and imbue a sense of celebration that the Day of the Dead festival is all about.
